From share houses and student dorms to hair salons and everyday absurdities, these films uncover the comedy hidden in ordinary conflict. Petty disagreements spiral into outrageous situations, misunderstandings take on lives of their own, and familiar spaces become battlegrounds where personalities and egos collide. This block reminds us that living alongside others is often the fastest way to discover ourselves.

Programmer's note: The best comedies often reveal something truthful about the way we relate to one another, and these films do exactly that. Beneath the absurdity are truly relatable moments of frustration, affection and human contradiction. Inventive, awkward and wonderfully self-assured, these films embrace the ridiculous without losing sight of their humanity, or, in some cases, questioning it.
