Nifa is a young woman drowning in an ocean of pain. Struggling to cope with the trauma from a previous sexual assault, Nifa's life consists of doing whatever possible to numb and isolate herself from feeling anything. She exists in a state of purgatory; where the impact of her assault permeates her thoughts and dreams. She moves through life as if underwater, unable to connect to others or herself. After an encounter with a free spirited young woman at the local swimming pool, Nifa embarks on a journey of self-discovery, where trauma and loneliness come face to face with pleasure, release and freedom. In an empty skate park in the middle of the night, Nifa finally connects to a part of herself thought lost reclaiming her body and herself.
