About the director: James is an award-winning writer and director, working as a Script Coordinator on various productions including Wentworth Season 7, and the critically acclaimed Netflix co-production, Glitch Season 2. In 2017, he was the lead writer for Matchbox Pictures’ first interactive mobile videogame: ‘Glitch – The Other’. He has also written and directed multiple independent films. His recent short, I Am Fairy, aired on FOXTEL’s Comedy Channel as the winner of Australia’s Funniest Shorts. His previous magical realist film, Abraxas (2013), was screened in the Cannes Short Film Corner, whilst his comedy film, Going Down (2014), was officially selected for Palm Springs International Shortfest. His latest production, Passage of Flick (2016), garnered Best Film at the Lionshead Film Festival, Best Foreign Short at Joy House Film Festival, and Official Selection at the Burbank International Film Festival.
Artistically, James aspires to delight audiences with emotionally rich stories that spark conversations about family and identity.
